Sold Land Rover Demountable Camper with Wood Burning Stove - Angus

Land Rover 110 TD5 High Capacity Pick-up with custom made de-mountable campervan pod complete with wood burning stove, gas cooker and sink unit. Bench seats with table convert into comfortable bed with storage units under benches. The camper pod can be quickly dismounted allowing the Land Rover to be used separately whilst the camper is still functional on its supporting legs, lowered to either ground level or just above the ground.

"Patch" as it is affectionately known was built as a lockdown project by a talented young engineer and his girlfriend who rebuilt the land rover patching together replacement front wings and other body parts painted in different colours which makes it a rather distinguished and fun vehicle, much admired by many. With a TD5 engine, arguably the best engine Land Rover ever made, it should have many years left to run. It currently has about 133k miles on the clock and is fitted with a new towbar which I use to tow a bathroom trailer unit (see below).

Despite its colourful exterior the vehicle is very well restored with new wiring harness, rear light housings with new lenses, repainted chassis (no welding required) all copper break pipes replaced, brake flex's replaced with Goodridge hoses, new front swivel joints and seals, bearings cleaned and repacked, new vented discs all round, new heavy duty shocks and springs, new terrafirma steering arms and steering damper, new steering drop and ball joint, steering box re-sealed, new bumper and fixings, coolant flushed and replaced with OAT, full engine service including fuel system, axle oil changed, gearbox oil changed, transfer box changed, wiper motor replaced, wiper spindles replaced, new indicator and wiper stalks new washer pump, new overflow pipe, new bonnet release cable, driver and passenger seats recovered in exmoor trim.

So a fortune spent on the vehicle and has passed 2 MOT's since restoration with flying colours. The vehicle drives very well and is a great work horse for collecting logs etc. The only thing that needs attention are the door bottoms which are beginning to rust. I have a brand new set of upper and lower inner door repair panels which I will supply with the sale.

The de-mountable camper has a kitchen sink and cooker using gas bottles (2 included), a water pump fitted which runs off 3x5L fresh water containers (easy to fill in a sink one at a time), a new leisure battery runnning off a split charge system with a load sensitive relay (the correct way to do it) which is hard-wired to the land rover but takes 5 minutes to remove/replace when demounting the camper. Camper blade fuse box with warning light system if a fuse blows, each fuse runs a separate system on the camper pod. 12 volt lights with remote and brightness settings. Wood burner makes the camper very warm even in deep mid-winter - it has a detachable flue outside for removal when travelling and storage for firewood etc underneath.

I have a towable bathroom trailer (listed separately) which is the perfect addition to 'Patch' with a state of the art hot water system with a shower, basin unit and cassette toilet.

This is the perfect set up for being comfortable when staying on location whilst having a good working vehicle to use, so brilliant for events, festivals, filming and photography in wild places or just glamping!
